This program offers comprehensive knowledge of Prakrit and the history of Jainism. Over a period of two years, the curriculum includes the study of Jainism, Agamic studies and literature, Prakrit grammar and literature, along with Indian philosophy, cosmology, Jain metaphysics, Jain ethical practices, and the arts within Jain culture.
The course highlights Jainism and its antiquity, Jain culture, Jain ethical philosophy, and their relevance and practical application in daily life.
The program also includes study tours, practical training, and project work as integral components.
Any student who has successfully completed an undergraduate degree is eligible to enroll in this course.
After completing this M.A. program, students will have opportunities to pursue M.Phil., Ph.D., and advanced research in Jainism.
According to the nature of the subject, the course is divided into three components: Tutorial, Practical/Oral, and Theory. Detailed information regarding these components is provided in the table below.
