About Program
The PhD in Jain and Prakrit Language is an advanced research-oriented program designed for scholars who wish to explore the rich linguistic, philosophical, literary, and cultural heritage of Jain traditions. The program provides an opportunity to undertake in-depth research in Prakrit languages, Jain literature, Jain philosophy, ancient texts, manuscripts, and related areas of Indian knowledge traditions.
Through rigorous academic study and original research, scholars develop expertise in textual analysis, critical interpretation, manuscript studies, translation, and academic writing. The program encourages interdisciplinary research connecting Jain and Prakrit studies with history, linguistics, philosophy, literature, archaeology, and cultural heritage.
